February 5, 2012

White Dog sat on the bed and watched me layer on clothes in anticipation the The White Dog Army's Sunday rendezvous with Dragon, Sen-ge and their Parents for a walk through the Bosque. It was cold, even at nearly 10am. I insisted that Nuka and Puff (still getting over an ear infection and congestion) wear their heavy jackets. Nuka didn't mind; she loves dressing up. Still Another White Dog sighed in resignation as Steve slipped her jacket over her head and helped her legs through. After three minutes of trying to shake it off, Puff accepted the warmth and actually appreciated the coverage. Quinn opted to stay home and sleep in; the cold is not his forte plus he craved alone time.

At the Bosque the extended WDA briskly trotted out along the cottonwood lined path. Once warmed up, they did a bit of exploring off the trail and the humans took time to pick off briars and burrs. The Army was drawn to the river and hopped over water filled crevices to forge onward. It is not easy to keep pretty pink jackets and white paws clean as you traipse along the muddy riverbank. YoYoMa impressed everyone by leaping confidently and landing cleanly. The finishing 1000 yards or so back to the car was a flat out race with pups dragging panting humans behind. It is clear as we head into Spring and better outdoor weather just WHO really needs the exercise part of our Sunday get-togethers most.

hey White Dog Army,

So...are you insinuating that your humans are out of shape? BOL! Funny pups! Your day sounds pawsome! What a fun place to hike and explore. Sorry it was so cold for you but I must woof, the pink jacket looks very pretty! Love all the pictures, such gorgeous pups you all are!

Glad Quinn was able to get some alone time and a good rest in. Hope he did not miss you pups too much, though. Glad you all had such a wonderful day with family and friends!

Oh, how the pack eyed this post with green-eyed jealousy! We took Nyxie out for a training session this weekend and she was so excited to prance about and just have fun. They love the cooler temps and it's always funny to see how many circles she runs around us ;)
Fenway jogs each walk with T so he gets a good sprint every few hours. Not like when us old fogies take him out...
Arwen is simpy content with a walk and plenty of sniffing outdoors. If she can follow the coyote prints and pee over a few of their markings, she's had a good day ;)
Glad your pack got out for some good fun! Happy week to you :)

That's one of the things we love most about the White Dog army ... always thinking of others. It sure was nice of you to help the humans get some exercise! :)

Oh, I love all these pictures. It might have been cold, but it sure looks bright and sunny! Did you say something about spring? Remember we live in Chicago and spring doesn't arrive until late May!

I love the coats on the white dogs. They're so incredibly cute!

I'm glad that you got out for your outdoor fun with your friends despite the cold. The WDA must be quite a sight when out and about!
