White Dog said, "I will be kind of sad to see our Fridays-As-Saturdays go. I sort of liked being out playing and enjoying the day off while everyone else worked!" She was referring to the fact that next quarter Steve actually has a Monday through Friday work week with the normal weekend.
Over breakfast of our last Friday-As-Saturday the White Dog Army agreed. "The Park is never crowded on Friday mornings," YoYoMa remembered. "And the nice lady at the taco place always had time to chat at lunchtime," Nuka shared. "I liked when she would come around the counter to pet us and give us special nibbles." The stand is off the beaten path, VERY popular on weekends but usually only a few locals and retirees during the week.
"We could go for rides ANYWHERE and there was never traffic and out in the country, the roads were practically deserted," Puff smiled as she recalled. She loves cars rides the most of all in the WDA. Oso commented, "I liked all of us being able to pile into the car and have a car picnic in a shady spot in the Bosque."
The Other White Dog spoke. "I like Friday-as-Saturdays because dad and I could do guy mechanic car stuff together in the early morning as we waved at neighbors hurrying off to work. But why are we dawdling over breakfast like it is a wake? It IS still Friday-as-Saturday so shouldn't we be making a plan about what we are going to do?"
The WDA turned and looked at him. "You are SO right, brother!" they chimed in unison, mouths stuffed with last bites of my bacon cheese sandwich and spoons of Steve's granola yogurt. "Let me finish my coffee first," YoYoMa begged as he plunged his nose into my cup and started lapping. "Let me finish MY coffee first," I corrected, "then who is up for a ride?"
P.S. Dr. Julia was not in the office today to get our report on Quinn but the staff promised to relay our information when she checked in. So for now, it is status quo (paws crossed) and TOWD seems fine.
