White Dog and The White Dog Army wish that the back side of the Circle of Life wasn't so hard to accept with grace and understanding. Early this morning Suka, one of the WDA's very best friends, from, the blog, Suka's Just Sayin', passed over the Bridge. He had just been diagnosed with heart problems after a summer of age catching up with him in terms of moving slower and eating less.
He was K's special boy and had been at her side through tough times, a constant source of encouragement and support. Suka made her--all of us--laugh and asked the questions that made us all think. He shared space in every post for a Moment of Beauty highlighting humans' greatest artistic accomplishments and reminding us that we should strive for THAT instead of what the headlines shout. We always shall think of him as a profound philosopher and observer of life.
Suka was an independent boy and often wandered in his younger years, but he came to understand the fear and stress that his absences put on K. When it is only you two, the obligation is so much greater to think of your partner.
Our dear friend loved duck jerky almost as much as the WDA does, and we are certain that on the other side, you can just nab strips off of bushes. We hope there is a compassionate yet fulfilling fix for Suka's passion for bunnies as well, so that they can live peaceably side-by-side while the Hunter Wolf is satisfied.
We know he is at peace and is restored to youth and health. We ask the Universe to grant K peace as well. We wrap our paws and arms around her in understanding and comfort, and we share the pain of loss. Tonight we will howl our sendoff at the stars and will now anxiously await the first snow in the mountains (predicted for this week) so that the WDA can leave our snow loving friend a special message written in the secret language of the dog.
We are so glad you did not suffer, Suka. But we are selfish and we already miss you more than words can say. KrisAnne, may our loving tears help wash away your ache so that someday the hole will be filled with warm happy loving memories to sustain you.

Dear White Dog Family,
I am most sorry to hear of your loss. I did not know this Suka but if she was anything at all like you, she would be wonderful.
Yesterday A Rickety Farmhouse had a poem that made me cry but I loved it. When you think your friend is ready, please share it with her.
Last Will and Testament of a Dog
If, with my paws, this is what I'd ask....
To a poor and lonely stray, I'd give:
-My happy home
-My bowl and cozy bed, soft pillows and all my toys
-The lap which I loved so much
-The hand that stroked my fur and the sweet voice which spoke my name.
I'd will to the sad, scared shelter dog, the place I had in my human's loving heart, of which there seemed no bounds.
So, when I die, please do not say, "I will never have a pet again, for the loss and pain is more than I can stand."
Instead, go find an unloved dog, one whose life has held no joy or hope and give MY place to HIM.
This is the only thing I can give.....
The love I left behind.

We were so sad to see Suka leave so soon. We know how devastated K must be. We also love the words the Jo and Stella left.
Soft woos and gentle hugs to K from all of us.

We were in shock hearing that our Suka left so quickly. Sending lots of hugs to his family.
That is way too sad, I just visited.
Our prayers are with Suka and his family at this terrible time- we are so sorry to hear of his passing.
Suka was one of my best friends. My heart is sad- because I know how much his people miss him. I know they did not want him to be tired and sick-
I will surround them in love and watch for the new star in the sky.

It's with sadness and compassion that we read your beautiful words about Suka and his K. We know it's those who know best the ache that such a loss brings that can put it to words as beautifully as you did. Your tribute is lovely ... and we thank you for sharing it. Suka has now touched one more family in a deep and special way. We wish comfort and peace for his moma, and for all the others who feel the pain of his passing.
With love,
Jake. Fergi and OurMoma
I was just to Suka's blog and learned he wasn't feeling good....so sad....
Howdy WDA, we're so sorry to hear about your friend Suka. We did not know her, but can understand the loss felt. Sending you and her family gentle hugs. Love Stella and Rory
Oh Remington, Suka has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and his person, K, is still struggling to find words to write the horrible post we all pray we will be spared. Like the rest of us, she was not prepared to lose him as quickly as it happened.
So sorry to hear about your friend, Suka.
It's so hard to say goodbye.
Love to Suka's family.
Wyatt and Stanzie
Such a beautiful tribute to a very beautiful boy. Tears fill my eyes thinking of Suka...we join the WDA in sending soft woos toward the stars to Suka and Husky hugs to K.
