White Dog looked over at Nuka and shook her head. "That girl is chewing herself absolutely raw! Can't you make her stop before she gets an infection or something?"

WD was right. Another White Dog has defied all attempts to get her to stop chewing on her legs this winter. We have bathed. We have moisturized. We have brushed and groomed. We have used anti-itch cream...vinegar...hydro cortisone...olive oil...hot sauce to no avail. She gets vitamins supplements and fatty acid rich mackerel and is treated with sensitive skin everything.

Dr. Julia at this point thinks Nuka Angel has developed this bad habit out of boredom or grooming gone out of control and has suggested maybe it is time to try the cone of shame...or one of those new fangled doughnuts that fit around the neck to break the behavior pattern.

Not quite ready for the cone step, today we put our best White Dog Army Corp of Engineers on the problem. Using her harness as a garter belt and some of Steve's old socks, my clever ones have managed to come up with a solution that is Flashdance sexy...and may just work!

What do you think? (So far, paws crossed, with the exception of initially walking a little tentatively AWD seems to be adjusting well...and no licking)!

Paws crossed! Have you tried redirecting her behavior with food or toys? Is she getting enough exercise/training/mental stimulation?

Hey....a new style is born!

Our Reno (RIP) used to suffer from seasonal allergies too. We got him some lightweight doggie PJ's with full length legs and they worked like a charm!
