White Dog sat next to me and spoke softly. "I don't want to worry the others, momma, but I am getting a little concerned about Nuka." "I know, Little One, dad and me, too." Our poor Another White Dog, Nuka Angel Marie, was sleeping on the floor fitfully, grunting softly in her sleep.

From Friday night when she first started acting sick by only eating half her dinner and being incredibly crabby, she had gone to not eating at all, barely drinking water, and being completely lackluster on Sunday afternoon. She had no pain when we pushed and squeezed and was not running a temperature. She did not sound congested but seemed to have no energy.

The White Dog Army opted to stay home and not go to the Park; no one wanted to leave even a sleeping sick Nuka to go and have fun. Steve cooked up rice and broth to tempt her...she turned up her nose. She turned her head away when I offered a small strip of duck jerky. She even spit up yellow-y bile a couple of times.

She allowed me to hold and cuddle her for brief interludes and then wanted "down" to lie, looking miserable, on the cool kitchen floor. The WDA took turns lying beside her and checking her over by sniffing.

By the time White Dog came to me, we had already made the decision to take Nuka to see Dr. Julia first thing in the morning and were mentally prepared if we had to rush to the emergency vet during the night (that having senior dogs thing, again). We made her as comfortable as possible, got her to take a few sips of water, and left her to sleep soundly.

When we came home after a quick dinner with Gregg and Candace (all of us worrying the entire time we ate) we found Nuka still asleep...but surrounded by every member of the WDA either napping touching her or keeping watch in a half circle around her.

Monday morning we will see what Dr. Julia has to say.
