White Dog complained, "Our lives are getting so boring, momma! Where's the thrill? the excitement? the words that will leave our readers gasping in amazement and longing to be us?"

"Well, if this is a lead-up to firing me, Little One, just get to it and start typing your WANTED: New biographer and life coach ad. Otherwise, make a suggestion for tonight's blog that will scintillate like the cliff hanger season ending of your favorite television series."

"We could talk dad into taking us hot air ballooning," WD suggested. "And show everyone the cool things around." "First, dear one, ballooning takes place in the early morning when you are still tightly crushed into my legs nestled in blankets. Second, the sound of the propane fire heating the air in the balloon's canopy makes you yowl with pain when you are on the ground MILES from the airborne balloons imagine what it is like right next to it. Third, what if something went wrong and you were carried off by the winds to far away lands? I would miss you uncontrollably."

"Maybe virtual ballooning?" she asked. "OK but remember you have to go where the winds take you!" So with WD at the helm and a basket full of White Dogs, we give you our view of virtual Albuquerque...
The famous Scot's, groomer to the WDA, on Route 66, blocks from home.
The Duck Pond at the University of New Mexico (go Lobos) which is a part of neighborhood.
The bandstand at The Old Town Plaza
The BioPark: aquarium, zoo and botanic gardens. One of dad's first architecture projects when he came to ABQ was  to design a fence for the parking lot areas. His design won awards and rave reviews...but is STILL waiting to be built, 15 years later.
Balloons often follow the course of the Rio Grande River
Our Sandia Mountains, so named because they glow Watermelon red at sunset.
This 30' high tiled car is an ode to the  era of elegant motoring and Route 66
One of two neon "gates" that span Route 66 marking the beginning and the end of our neighborhood
We hope that you enjoyed our Balloon Tour of The Duke of Albuquerque's Land of Enchantment. Every one in the WDA gets a chuckle every time we walk through our neighborhood or watch sunrise or gaze at the mountains and momma says, "I cannot believe we live here; it is just so incredible!"

Howdy Fluffy White Mates. We LOVED your tour and the Bandstand (Rotunda) bought back many memories for our mum from when she lived in a little country town and her mother was in charge of the Marching Girls. Many community events were held around the Rotunda. By the way, our mum loves "hum drum" cause it means everything is at peace with our little part of the world! No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

We think you all live in a very beautiful and interesting place. It isn't always easy to have exciting tales to share, but we do enjoy your everyday life as well. Keep doing what you are doing.
