A Candle for Thunder

White Dog was an only child and we were novices at blogging when we first met Phantom and his mischievous brother, Thunder. And we began a shared journey that saw our families grow in number and in grace. We walked with Phantom as he fought the c monster and he walked with us the very first time we took up our banner to slay the beast.

In the process our lives intertwined as we sent and received encouragement and bore witness to each other through life's ups and downs. We felt a bond and in the connection became family.

The suddenness and unexpectedness of Thunder's passing leaves us numb, questioning and soggy from tears. We were not ready; we did not get a chance to woo into being a miracle; we did not have long enough to say all that was in our hearts.

The White Dog Army sends the OP Pack, woos and humans, love and understanding. There are no words that will ease the pain right now but we hope that they can feel our blog family wrapping them with arms and paws to lean on and offer some small comfort. We want them to just know that they are not alone in their anguish.

We pray that our community's ocean of tears will ready the heart for someday in the future when lasting loving memories of Thunder grow to fill the jagged hole and provide a source of closeness and peace.

For now, dearest friend, run free of pain and be filled with the vigor of eternal youth. We know you will be waiting, tail wagging, silver harness jingling, to greet each of us when it is our time to join you.

We promise to never forget you, Thunder. You are a brave Warrior and wonderful friend. The White Dog Army will continue to fight on until no creature faces the horrors that the c monster inflicts...you have our solemn vow.

Thank you, you said that so beautifully and in words that I can not right now. I'm still in shock. I want to post something, but words seem to elude me.

Thank you for writing that, you touched my heart.

Yes, we heard about it. We were in shock too. We already sent an email to them.

That's really sweet of you to write this message coming from the WDA pack.

I know exactly how you feel and you have somehow managed to convey what we all are feeling. It seems we have lost too many of our good friends lately. This is a beautiful tribute to Thunder. xoxo Chloe and LadyBug

The WDA and their human always seem to find the best words to express what the heart is feeling. Thank you so much for your beautiful tribute to Thunder and his family. Much love to all of you.

We are just overwhelmed by the beautiful emails and posts in honor of our dear Thunder. Our hearts are broken, but your kindness is helping us through this very difficult time. Thank you so much for your friendship and love.

You said it best. I feel the same way about Thunder and his pack. I cannot believe that he has crossed the Bridge already. I hope that the collective love of the blog world will help the OP Pack just a tiny bit.
