On February 22, we, that is Paws To People, are hosting a joint Blood Drive for the Canine and the Human Blood Banks in town. As is the case almost everywhere, there is a shortage of donors and blood resources for both people and pets here in Albuquerque.
Our theme is: We Could Be Heroes: My Dog and Me Blood Drive. Why? Because every donation helps save the lives of four pets or people...and to us, that is amazingly caring and giving...the stuff heroes are made of.
We are looking for heroes to be our poster pups and people to encourage participation and to let the world know that giving blood is quick, painless, and easy. Whether you are two- or four-legged, if you have donated blood we would like to recognize you as one of our Heroes. Send me a photo (it doesn't have to be of the actual donation but a favorite photo) and a couple of sentences about what motivated you to donate blood.
By stepping forward and sharing your story, you become a hero yet once again...by persuading another to put on a cape and make a difference. Will you help?
