White Dog and the rest of the White Dog Army got into welcoming position when we received the call that Adrienne had Sachi in the car in Yuma, AZ and was starting the trip home. "Ummm, you know my loves, it is a VERY long trip. We will not see him until late tonight."

A little later than the most expedient route would have meant since the wonderful angel who drove his entire transport decided on the way West that taking our boy with breathing issues through the highest altitudes of the Continental Divide might be risky. Instead she opted for the slightly longer route that stayed at lower elevations and passed through Phoenix.

The White Dogs passed all day; perking up when we got photos or text messages from the road and howling their greeting when Adrienne called to share special moments...

Like our Sachi San getting growling mad at the Border Patrol officer who interrupted their progress at a checkpoint...they got a pass from the Officer when his Patrol Shepherd Dog stood, paws on Adrienne's window, to see WHO was making so much noise and out little 5 lbs of fury lunged at him. Laughing, our transporter was told to move the vicious beast along.

It was after 11pm when our new recruit arrived. It had been a long and confusing day of transitions for him. His breathing was a bit ragged so we gave him an herbal calming tablet to lessen his stress. The White Dog Army was gentle and caring; there was not a single growl and YoYoMa was quite tender as he stood up on my knee to get closer to softly nuzzle his new brother's face. Puff, the nurterer followed Sachi around as he began to explore his new home. Taiko was amazing and so tolerant of being nosed and having the strangely wheezy boy invade his space. Tai lowered his head and touched the top of Sachi's head. Bella danced and tried to encourage her new brother to play; they bonded playing in-and-out the dog door until the wee hours.

White Dog beamed and laughed at Steve whose plan was that Sachi would spend the night in the wicker trunk we had converted into a bed to contain Oso. Steve kissed him and said "Goodnight" then placed the newbie in the crate. The newbie promptly jumped out of the crate and up on the bed next to White Dog.

Sachi spent the night next to my side of the bed, at peace as long as I left my arm dangling for him to snuggle against. Several times across the night I heard Puff check on him...and Bella, too. White Dog shifted to peer over the bed and assured herself all was well.

And it was well, better than well, as the Army including our Angel members slept knowing they were safe and cherished and loved.

White Dog, Still Another White Dog, Yet Another White Dog, Oh Yes! Another White Dog, and Tiny White Dog introduce
Of Course, A White Dog...
Sachi The Dauntless.
May he always be happy as his name implies.
Goodbye Yuma, I have a date with destiny in ABQ!

Sue, this is wonderful. Looks like he fits right in with no WDA basic training needed. He's tiny, like Bella. Bet they'll become best friends!

So happy for all of you. Looks like he feels at home immediately. How wonderful. How thoughtful of Adrienne to not take the shortest route thinking about Sachi's breathing. What a wonderful woman.

The very biggest welcome little one. I am glad that both the journey and the arrival went well. It seems that the newest arrival is going to fit in just fine with the white dog army. Hugs x
