April 1, 2017

White Dog high fived me; the rest of the White Dog Army swarmed around Benson who looked a little confused by the attention.

We were celebrating Benson's hearty enjoyment of his dinner. The bowl, with the exception of a tiny spoonful, was licked clean! The WDA took the return of his appetite as a sure sign of relief from the torture his pancreas has been inflicting on him for nearly a week.

Perhaps it was the addition of a few morsels of fresh from the oven roasted turkey that we ALL had savored...perhaps it was relief finally being provided by his medications...or perhaps, as White Dog put it, "It is healing magic."

We know the power of love and hope our boy Benson has been bathed in both here and by so many others. He is one very blessed boy.

One meal does not a recovery make; nor does it tell us that he was just suffering from a severe case of pancreatitis or that he is out of the woods. We will continue to watch and see if a pattern develops. Later in the coming week, if Benson continues to do so well, we will have his pancreas levels retested...in the hope that they are at a better place.

But for now, extra treats came after Benson's hydration session...treats which he stretched for with delight (as did all of the supervisors)...and we are buoyed by this turn of health.

P.S. BenBen ate with just as much enthusiasm for Sunday brunch and has been awake interacting with the pack nearly all day.

Just goes to show that once again, POTP is so powerful as we just experienced too. Continued prayers for Benson for a complete recovery.

Mom Kim here - oh that is some great news and I pray it is only the beginning of everything being well again - you need it and so does Benson. Lady Shasta continues her POTP.
