White Dog has everyone in the White Dog Army rushing about putting last minute touches on the cleanup and organization before our friend, Sue, arrives to visit from California for the weekend. She is the rescuer who saved YoYoMa and sent him to us so long ago, so WD wants everything to be just perfect.
Like her momma, WD is a perfectionist; an overachiever. We both sighed a heavy breath a bit ago when the skies clouded up and monsoon rains began to fall. And then Sue messaged us that her flight had been delayed because a crew member had an emergency and they had to await a replacement. Her flight already was arriving after 11pm.
"It will be a long trip for her," White Dog fretted. "Should we prepare a little nosh or should we figure she will want to just fall into bed, exhausted." I shrugged.
"Maybe her delay will be good," WD said surveying the ceiling fans. "Maybe dad will have time to get the ladder and clean the fan blades." "Sweet Love, I too, would love our house to look as though we have a staff but Sue has White Dogs and a busy life. I am sure she will not be too critical. Besides Dad is very tired. Remember he was up early and worked all day."
I have not shared that the thing Sue is most excited about, besides coming to help with the Paws To People Art Auction, is simply being able to meet The White Dog Army in person. She has already expressed a desire to spend LOTS of time getting to know them and giving hugs along with treats.
"Wrap it up, momma," bossy WD prodded. "Maybe we should make cookies and just leave a plate on her nightstand. That way SHE can decide if she needs a snack. If we do them now they will still be warm and soft when she arrives."
