White Dog moved closer. "I like these teleconferences with Dr. Julia. It is like we ALL get to go to Nilla's appointments." Steve is still suffering from knee issues so we decided to spare him pushing my wheelchair for Nilla's followup appointment; we opted to be connected by phone so we could participate.

White Dog Army huddled around, we heard our beloved vet physically check out Nilla and ask about her habits. We heard Steve affirm that she has a tremendous appetite despite having lost a pound; a couple of us looked wistful when Dr. Julia told him to increase her portions if she would eat it.

The selegiline seems to be helping our girl's dementia but has done nothing notable for reducing her hair loss. Dr. Julia was not happy about the new bald patches on Nil's right side and top of her head. We heard the vet page through Nilla's file and compare blood work "I do not see any indication that she has an adrenal problem," was the conclusion. "The numbers are all sound. Beside if the loss was related to Cushings, there would be no crustiness."

We pictured Nilla squirming as Dr. Julia stood and reexamined the bare places. "I am pretty convinced based on everything that this is a resistant bacterial infection. We're going on clindamycin and if that doesn't help in a couple of weeks we will try another antibiotic; let's schedule to see her then. Keep up the weekly medicated baths and use this topical spray to provide itch relief. The good news is that the hair loss if it is an infection, is likely to grow back. "

She straightened Nilla's shirt. "I love your shirt," she told her and reassured Steve that the clothes to keep her furless parts warm would not provide incubation sites for the bacteria. At home we all cheered to know there was no adrenal issues and that Nilla could continue her stylish warm protection.

And with that, the team at the clinic signed off to check out and come home.
Visiting Dr. Julia tires Our Girl out. She held on until after dinner but then crashed.
