White Dog and the White Dog Army were overjoyed when Steve made the decision to take a snow day. The city was virtually shutdown and of course has limited equipment for large scale snow cleanup. Our side street was not even on the list of priorities. "Better safe, dad," was Roman's recommendation.

Seems most of Albuquerque took the same caution. Traffic was sparse on famous Route 66 as we looked toward it. Our street had icy ruts where a few had made their way. Even the City was advising those that could, stay home.

It was kind of a stolen moment of freedom. But the sun melting the snow made the conditions worse as the water froze due to ground and air temps. It was slippery everywhere, even on the dog ramp which Steve worked hard several times to shovel and dry off. In the end the White Dog Army spent the day anticipating treats and napping while Steve did catchup paperwork...not exactly a roaring party.

Everyone is trying to be positive about the break from routine, but I can sense boredom edging in. It is like Opal said, "who says routine is a bad thing?"

A break can be nice....but routine is ok too
