"White Dog," I lifted her up after bedtime treats. "PLEASE go out and tell Pearl that she can stand down her duty of watching for delivery trucks and random Christmas-connected messengers. It is 11pm and no one more is coming. She only hopped down to the seat of the Watching chair to eat dinner and then was back on guard. She would not leave her post even for bedtime treats. I love her dedication and diligence but PLEASE release her to sleep."
