White Dog sadly shook her head. "In defense, I must commend Roman's commitment to defending our family. He only wants to keep us safe."
I know she is right, but Roman is intense as he leaps onto the chair by the window that looks out at the front door and he is frantic pawing through our wooden blinds as he attempts to chase off "intruders."  I worry that were it not for those blinds that he might actually go through the window.

Today, the substitute mailman unknowingly made the mistake of standing AT the door to sort our mail out of his bag.  The regular guy long ago learned to do the sorting before he approaches the house so that he can stride up, slip mail into slot, and be gone...with no wasted time.

Roman took the slowness as a challenge to the WDA which increased his frenzy. I heard a strange sound and Roman came rushing into the bedroom where I was working to sit beside me. "I did not do anything wrong," he tried to convey with his sweet look but his heavy breathing gave him away.

Roman followed Steve back out to the living room. "Well, the cover is all pulled off of the chair," Steve reported. "And the blinds are all tangled. Oh wait. Roman, you BROKE two of the wooden slats. Buddy, they are snapped clean through. You did not hurt yourself in the process, did you?" He coaxed our Boy out of the Time Out Crate, where Roman had put himself, up onto the sofa. There was no injury...to our baby...can't say as much for the blinds.

Roman, we are glad you did not get hurt. That is the most important thing.
