Diva decided at 3:30am that she did not want to have her own bedroom. Since Siku left us, the Littlest One has had the office to herself at night. There, she can be gated for safety and to keep her from wandering out through the dog door and awaking the neighborhood with her barking. It wasn't until a frustrated Steve was driven to take up his former practice of sleeping in the office recliner chair. Once he was there, Diva curled up in her bed and slept.
Today we undertook the task of trying to carve out a space in the bedroom for her. She needs to be protected from Roman who now has a tightened muzzle and has re-earned an open crate door; Her lack of boundaries or understanding his need for personalspace triggers My Boy who is trying VERY hard to not regress. We agreed that we did not like the idea of the Diva having access to the outdoors after her night-night walk; she could not have access to the dog door. The space needed a comfy bed that fit in the smallish space we squeezed between Bailey's crate and the bookcase. Opal was not thrilled that her toyboxes were repositioned but felt better after testing the new arrangement to find all the important toys most accessible. Tonight will be the true test; whether Roman, Diva, and all of the other WDA are comfortable and sleep through the night.
Meanwhile, this afternoon Diva had her followup with Dr. Julia. Her gash is completely healed and the swelling on her hip turned out to be a lipoma, fatty tissue. Dr. Julia prescribes no special treatment but wants to know if it should change in size, color, texture or if it begins to bleed. "In other words," our healer concluded, "your Little Complainer is healthy and doing well on her diet. She already looks a bit thinner." Steve laughed. "She acts like she is starving, says it is 18lbs of muscle."

We have our paws and fingers crossed that the new sleeping arrangements work out. Glad to hear Diva is healthy! :)
