"Well, my track record doesn't look so good," Zsofia wooed. "Maybe Siku made a mistake is choosing me to lead the Army."
I put my arm around her. "Sweet Girl, you have not had this mantle long enough to have a track record. Why are you so upset?"
"Dad and I thought about Diva's unhappiness sleeping alone in the office and we made a space for her to be in the bedroom with all of us. She lasted only one hour at bedtime before she began to cry. And Roman was unhappy she was so close to him. They both ended up growling at each other. It totally failed."
"Time and love," I reminded her. "Change is very hard and you are dealing with the two family members who are have extra stresses. Diva lasted for an hour before reacting...so did Roman. That is a start. Not every idea Siku had was an amazing success from its start. How many tethers and leashes did you chew through as a puppy when we tried to figure out how to keep you from wandering off and getting into mischief as momma worked?"
"I don't think I can do this," Zso said pressing against me. "You have to give yourself time and love as well. We will try Diva in the night space again tonight and will continue hoping she stays a little bit longer each time...and that Roman comes to accept her presence there as routine. And if that doesn't work, we'll try something else. A good leader is flexible. I believe in you, Itty Bitty One."
