White Dog smiled. “Finally, the story can be told. It has been difficult to maintain secrecy while Tizenegy has been under protection. Now at least we can talk about his history.”

It is true. At the beginning of February our wonderful friend, Angela from NMDog contacted me about a White Dog she had from a special sensitive case that she was working on. We agreed that this gentle boy who had suffered much would be welcome to our White Dog Army and that he would be forever safe and loved.

Tizenegy, “Eleven,” came to be with us with the caveat that he was part of an on-going case and while we could announce his arrival we could give no details. He became our Lucky Number.

At the same time, Angela herself took in a senior from the same case, Tarot, and both boys became the inspiration that the dream of saving the dogs still in danger and finding homes that would love and keep them safe. Sadly, Tarot did not survive health issues caused by his neglect…which gave us an Angel and motivation to bring the rest to safety.

This evening Angela let me know the heroic effort was successful. 78 dogs and more than 40 cats have been permanently removed from a horrible situation of starvation, no shelter, and lack of water in a “sanctuary” supposedly to help homeless dogs and humans. All have now been vetted and are receiving critical care.

Working with a team from Clayton County and the ASPCA, NMDog helped gather evidence and build a case that at last resulted in all of the animals being removed and the Dreampower Foundation Sanctuary has been shuttered. Go here to learn more about the story: http://www.newschannel10.com/story/37883266/aspca-removes-nearly-120-animals-from-nm-sanctuary and https://www.aspca.org/about-us/press-releases/aspca-assists-new-mexico-district-attorney-union-county-sheriffs-office

The shaved “lioncut” Tizenegy arrived with (due to severe matting) has nearly grown out but he still has mastered the drooly aspects of having lost so many teeth (his front mane needs lots of attention). Teez has claimed the corner bed next to Steve’s bed as his own and the WDA respects this. He loves joining the group for coffee club every morning and has not met a treat he does not like.

Our Lucky Boy adores Steve and walks like Taiko once did, with his head pressed between Steve’s legs. He is gentle with everyone and learning to not react as Roman learns HIS boundaries. Tizenegy feels comfortable enough to voice his opinions and demand dinner be hurried. He is learning basic commands and is walk partners with Roman and White Dog.

When his deep brown eyes look into mine, they are filled with love and gratitude. We are all blessed…and we ask the Universe to make sure those others saved have the same “luck.”

Finally, my good boy, FINALLY welcome forever home. Tonight we will celebrate Teez, Tarot, and every single furbaby resting in safety.

Such a horrible ordeal. I'm so glad there are wonderful humans out there, like you and Steve, to help those who so need it and so deserve it.
