Tizenegy likes encouragement to go outside when nature calls. He knows how to use the dog door but if Steve is home, he requires dad's cheer leading to not take the easy route of just using any convenient door frame.
Tiz will bark like a lunatic...from his place in the office...to alert Steve that he needs to go. Steve stands in the hallway and says, "How about going outside to go potty?" which prompts our vocal boy to trot out to the hall. "Go on!" Steve encourages. Tizenegy goes to the dog door and looks back over his shoulder. "Outside!"
Our boy bolts out of the door, touches the deck and races back in. "You did not go!" Steve points out. "Out!" Thundering outside and back in nanotime, Tiz looks at Steve and wags. It is the reaction of a pup waiting for you to throw the ball again.
"Come on, Buddy. When you are out there take care of business. You are not out there long enough to go. Now really, GO!"
Cantering out again; this time Steve moves to the flap. When the big floofy head pokes in and sees Steve, he quickly backs out...and FINALLY leaves the deck to relieve himself...looking the entire time for Steve's face in the window.
When he returns to the house he struts over to Steve and wags his success. "That was a REALLY good boy!" Steve coos. "You know you can do all of that without my help. You are smart and know the routine."
"Yes," White Dog answers for him as he settles onto his bed, "but it is not nearly as much fun!"

It DOES sound kind of fun, but we can imagine it would get a bit tiresome if that's the drill every single time. ;)
