White Dog watched from her suite as Pearl got up from next to her, did a long stretch, and walked toward the other bed. I noted the movement out of the corner of my eye and continued to work thinking it was White Dog nudging my hand for a soft exchange.

But the fur was not right. Well, it was right for Pearl but NOT for WD. But Pearl still has trust issues with me and never asks for attention of this sort. Or hasn't. Without shifting noticeably,

I looked down my arm...and my heart sang. It was nearly impossible to stay nonchalant but I knew if I startled her she would break contact.

Calmly I said, "I have waited so long for this gift, beautiful girl. Thank you.."

The encounter lasted less than a minute before she moved to the bed and settled. White Dog tilted her head as if to say, "I KNEW it was just a matter of time."

THESE are the moments that are recalled over and over and warm the soul every time.

Wonder and amazement! Time heals all, if in a loving environment! Congrats!!!
