White Dog agreed with Pearl that Mondays are the hardest mornings. No one ever understands why the weekend passes so quickly and that before they know it the White Dog Army is watching Steve back Pumpkin down the driveway on his route to work.

The WDA watches until they can no longer see the orange van, then their song of "We miss you already, hurry home" dwindles to silence and all settle down to erase some of the long hours until his return with a mid-morning nap.
