The White Dog Army was feeling a bit competitive today. They had already staged races in the yard. Mowed through breakfast to see who could finish fastest. They competed to see who could bark the loudest....the longest. The tissue shredding contest did not leave dad happy, which was why HE was disqualified for the "Voguing; Who Rocks the Chair Look Competition."
"They are ready for the competition," White Dog told me. I sighed. One-by-one each candidate took position, arranged her or himself to best highlight individual character and beauty, then held the pose until released.
I gathered the WDA and held my clipboard in front of me. "The results of the 2020 Who Vogues and Rocks the Chair Contest are as follows...
"Classic Art Institute of Chicago Lion pose goes to Opal Marie. It is amazing Opal that you nuanced that pose so perfectly having never sat on nor hugged the stone beasts in person. Great job...
"Best I Don't Really Care Because I know I Will Win look belongs to Roman, the nonchalant Rico Suave." As expected My Boy just shrugged and said "No Biggie" but he squared his shoulders and tried not to beam.
I continued. "Best recreation of Rodin's 'The Thinker' which truly captures the deep thought and inner philosophical pondering is presented to Zsofia Marie...Your wisdom is showing, Zso!
"Bailey Marie, your vogue is the essence of the quintessential Best Friend...smiling, open, engaged. Your pose invites sitting down next to you, giving a hug and telling a secret. Brava!
"All of the winners will receive special vanilla ice cream and peanut butter star cookie sundaes after dinner. Those who participated as our live cheering audience get ice cream scoops."
