White Dog nodded and smiled a sad turn of her lips. "We have reached that point, momma. Too many superhot days in a row; everypup is cranky and edgy." She was right. It seemed like the entire White Dog Army wwas going out of its way to stir up discord...maybe just for the exciting change of pace. They had noshed too much; napped too much; and spent too much time indoors together.
Opal dashed into the yard to carry in poop for her snacking enjoyment. She knows that while the disgusting practice cannot be totally stopped that it must NEVER come into the house where momma can see it. And just as an added bonus she and Bailey decided to squabble over ownership on the carpet right next to my feet.
The only times Zsofia left the comfort of lying on the bed was to position herself as a roadblock in the major traffic paths in the house...the doorways...the dog door...in the narrow space next to my computer which is the only egress to the bedroom.
All of the WDA forgot manners at treat time and jostled for position so rudely that I sat with the closed bag on my lap for several minutes, silently, Eventually, Zso tried to sing me into handing out rteats. "I can wait," I told her. "There will be NO treats for ANYpup until you all recalibrate and remember the correct way to line up for treats."
While I had them all gathered I issued a warning. The heat wave is predicted to continue for more days, kids. And the Summer is really just beginning. I want each of you to think about how you will work to avoid the Summertime Blues and what we can put in place to support each other getting through the "It is Too Hot and I am Too Bored" moments. We can talk about this after dinner, so be prepared.
