White Dog waited patiently on the couch but the others complained mightily that Roman got to be in the kitchen and help Steve serve up the leftover birthday dessert.
Roman, Steve's usual sous chef, supervised each scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt that went into individual bowls to make sure they were of uniform size. The top of each scoop was then drenched in a heaping tablespoon of the blueberry filling that did not fit into the pie crust; the result was sort of a blueberry sundae.
As they worked, helpful suggestions flew from the other side of the gate. "Don't let it melt!" "How come we are having yogurt and not ice cream?" "Since yogurt is healthier, can we also have a cookie?" "Tell me again WHY we want living things in our guts?"
Finally, there was quiet...because every member of the WDA was busy using mouths to slurp not shout.

It sounds like the peanut gallery was satisfied in the end. :)
