White Dog had volunteers to go to see Dr. Julia in her place; everyone in the White Dog Army knows how stressed vet visits make her and they would gladly have gone in her stead. She lifted her head from Steve's shoulder and smiled at her Army. "Thank you and I will carry your good thoughts with me but this is something only I can do. I just hope it will be a quick visit and I can be home soon."

It was the end of the eight week interval and an ultrasound of her pancreatic pseudocyst was due to see if the damnable thing needed draining. Steve left her at the clinic first thing in the morning and returned home expecting we would get a "pickup" call mid afternoon.

Jackie's call before noon surprised us but thankfully the happy tone of her voice kept us from jumping to the wrong conclusions. "Your girl is ready and things went great," she said. "Steve can come and get her at any time. Do you think it will be later in the afternoon? If so, we could feed her."

All at our vet's office know White Dog since puppyhood and understand her stresses so they did the procedure first thing in order to get her home as quickly as possible.Steve took a break from work to get her and talk to our beloved healer.

"There was some fluid," Dr. Julia said. "More than the last two times but less than at first. We certainly need to stay on our current recheck schedule. Her blood work was steller. I can't believe it; even her liver values had improved. Whatever you are doing, please continue. The only bump is that her potassium is elevated. No new meds for that. Exercise helps with excreting the excess. Look at her diet and increase water intake...Sue will know what to do." She took White Dog's face into her hands. "You are one very lucky dog."

White Dog pressed against her hands. "Believe me, Dr. Julia, in SO many ways."
