Part of helping Roman become more comfortable with his newest sister involves sitting with him and discussing similarities and differences between Zsofia and Bailey, who he accepts and loves...and Lilly, still trying to break through to Roman's heart.

He has made some easy comparisons. "Zsofia is the smallest, Bai is in the middle and Lilly is tallest," he observed. "They all love treat time but Lilly's manners need improving." "Zsofia is the best singer."

Roman looked out to the yard where the Sisters were all playing. "They all move differently. Bailey sort of just calmly saunters along.

"Zso moves like a dancer, stepping lightly and sort of flowing."

"Lilly takes long strides and moves like she is on a mission. Maybe that intimidates me a bit," Roman confessed. "It is like she is coming AT me."

I put my hand against the side of his face. "Here is a secret that must never say aloud to Lilly. That determined stride is mostly because she has big feet and must step wide to not trip herself up. She is a bit clumsy and has walked on my foot many times because she is not always body aware. So don't be intimidated; with your nonfunctioning leg you share a need to think about how you move. It is something you have in common. The more you look and see what you share, the easier it will be to learn to love her. Keep looking."

This is a great exercise for you and Mom to do, Roman. The WDA is made up of so much diversity, all bound by love.
