August 18, 2009

White Dog waits patiently for the swamp cooler to kick on--it is already too warm to lie outside and the inside has just about lost the trapped night coolness that makes the house pleasant well into mid morning. Together we answer emails and blog, glad to be together but unwilling to cuddle too close for fear of generating extra heat. Finally we hear the pump start up and the groan of the motor starting...White Dog looks up expectantly at the vent. Cool air begins streaming out! We both sigh in happiness, then White Dog stretches and moves to "her" napping spot in the living room under the chilled air.

Life is wonderful with cool air! It's hot here too. Mommy turned on the AC at 1pm.

I feel your pain, Siku. Fortunately, we haven't been as hot here as a typical August, but it's hard to snuggle too close when the air isn't running! When our air kicks on, it scares me if I'm outside near it, and I start barking to tell it who the real boss is!

Love,
Prinnie

We are afraid of the vents in the house.... who is down there pushing that air up here?!
