White Dog, Steve and I returned from our Chicago sojourn to bury my father last night. It was a journey more filled with reflections and affirmations than tears thanks to the tremendous love and support that surrounded us. Gregg and Dragon accompanied us every step to share the driving duties and so so much more. White Dog and Steve and I have no words to thank them for the kindness in volunteering for the trek. Their act of love humbles us.

Thank you, dearest two- and four-legged friends, for reminding us that we are never alone (even at the saddest of times). You helped us stay focused on the fact that the cycle of life should always be a celebration of the good, the hopeful, the love and the positive changes that turn the wheel...ends ARE necessary for new beginnings. My father suffered years of depression after the death of my mother and had succumbed to diseases which ate away at the quality of his days. Standing quietly after the service (yes, White Dog attended), I was able to wish the man who had been so instrumental in shaping me, godspeed to the other side...and peace for evermore.

It's good to see your posts again! Although we talked every day, we missed this part of you. You are so right - Gregg was so incredible to share the journey with you, Steve and Siku.

On a personal note, we are so proud of you. We know how difficult the struggles have been as of late, and you both held on together and once again climbed up and over that waterfall. We love you!

Welcome home, we have thought about you often while you were away. It is never easy to say good bye but you put it so well with your words. It must be wonderful to have good friends like Greg.

Hugs, the OP Pack

hey Siku Marie,

I am so happy you and your family are back and are safe. You have been missed. That is so sweet you attended the service. I bet that helped your mom a lot, to have you next to her.

Peace,

Glad you got back safely. I think you have such a way with words. You put this sad event very much into a sort of celebration of life rather than a sadness of death. That is so good to see.. You have also such very good friends. They are indeed a treasure to nurture. Thanks for including us at this time.. Hugs Carol and GJ xx

We are glad you are home safely from your trip. We totally understand how you feel, both sad that he is gone but probably a bit of relief that he isn't suffering - that is how it was for me, and my dad went through what sounds like something similar to yours (both the depression and illness part). We are sending you purrs and good thoughts right now.
