White Dog knew that the early alarm meant this morning was Park Day! She was up in an instant and dancing all over the bed. "Sorry Sweetie," I groggily announced, "but this morning Steve has to take Michael to high school extra early so that he can finish his registration and start classes." White Dog was very disappointed but when she saw how nervous Michael was about the start of yet another new adventure in his life, she focused on reassuring him. She sat next to him as he ate breakfast and put his shoes on. She gave him a paw pat on the leg for luck and watched from her window perch until the car was out of sight. Then she moped around waiting all morning and afternoon for both our missing family members. When he returned, White Dog was there at the door to greet him and with tail wags and head butts welcome him home. "It wasn't too bad," Michael told her.
Steve brought in a box left by the mailman and White Dog knew it was for her. "See," Steve said, "Not everything today is sad." Together they opened the box from Cappy to discover "Just Because" presents--liver biscuits and a beautiful hand crocheted blanket with dog print ribbons! Cappy is such a thoughtful friend, she said, and his mom is very talented! Of course, we sampled (and sampled and sampled once more) the biscuits and White Dog decided that she wanted the Eskie, snowy white blanket on the couch. "Right by where she sits next to me!" Michael interpreted.

Glad Michael's first day wasn't too bad. Too bad Siku can't become his assistant dog like Clive.
Phantom is a very bizarre dog, he wasn't just tired, he just didn't want the bone. He drives his Mom nuts.
Woos, Phantom and Thunder
You've got your values well figured out White Dog, and it sounds like Michael does too! What a great relationship seems to be developing. One that can share a snowy white paw print blanket. Together.

Yay Siku! I know you didn't get to go to the park with dad today, but you did help a very nervous nephew start his day on the right foot, and for that you should be proud. That was really, really nice of Cappy and his mom to send you :just because" presents. You are most deserving, and very loved.
I am really proud of how patient and understanding you have been lately. I know it's hard (I don't like change AT ALL), but you can do it! I'm right here with you, my BFF!
Lots of love,
Prinnie
I'm so glad that Michael had a great first day at his new school. What a wonderful surprise from Cappy. I hope you'll show us your new blanket.

Not a bad trade! :)
Packages are so much fun. That was super nice of Cappy to send you treats and a blanket! Cappy's Mom makes the best crocheted blankets. We have one, too! Do you have a photo of your new pretty blanket?
Oh, I forgot to mention there is a new eskie on the block. Her name is Tegan and she is a budding blogger! Please give her a big welcome!
