White Dog is thrilled and delighted to report that this birthday and blog milestone party was the best ever! Thanks, friends for leaving more than 150 comments (151, to be precise)! I have agreed to include sibling greetings from the other members of the White Dog Army and phone calls so we will round the total up to 160 comments...meaning $80 for Canine Cancer Research! Woohoo!
Remember, there are more parts to this celebration. First, without telling him why, White Dog asked Michael to pick a number between 1 and 151...his choice led us to Jacqueline and her beautiful Cats, Halle, Sukki, and Calle. White Dog will sponsor one of Khyra's mom's rescue transports in their names!
The next winner, determined by Steve's count of the number of pistachios left in the "munchy" bag, is Rebecca and Daisy Mae. We will make a $20 donation to the charity of their choice. Please let us know the name of the lucky recipient.
There are over a dozen other prizes to be awarded and we promise to announce those winners right after Christmas. But tomorrow is our family's biggest celebration of the year...The Endless Christmas Eve Open House and we are way behind schedule in preparations so please bear with us.
Meanwhile, everyone should be very proud of helping us fight the evil monster that stalks us all and who is responsible for too much suffering and too many losses. I believe that these dollars are heaven marked to fuel progress that will defeat this foe...hopefully within our lifetime. We can think of no better way to show our strength than by celebrating life and milestones reached and community joined! You are all awesome!
While, dollars help, our most amazing weapon is the Power of the Paw. Our hopes and prayers and united energies can make a difference. Keep fighting alongside of The Luke...and Murphy...and Blueberry...and all the warriors struggling against the little c (cancer never deserves big letters). A cure will be found...we will do it together! Because Cancer.Touches.Everyone
Thank you dear friends for the best birthday ever! We are teary that so many care so much to stop by and leave a word. I promise to finish posting winners next Monday.
On a personal sad note: Chuck, our Sugar Glider who went blind last week, passed away today. Although he was responding well to hand feeding and hydration, Dr. Julia feels that the small sweet boy simply died of old age, peacefully, in his sleep.
