White Dog complained to Steve. "I just do not understand why we always have to wait for you to get photos taken. It is like momma has paws when it comes to taking pictures...they are always blurry or at a weird angle. Makes no sense, she's an ARTIST for dog's sake!"
She was grousing because already the hallway door was covered in Holiday Greetings from all across the Blog World and Steve had just finished the school quarter and was "finally" getting to taking the photos of the White Dog Army needed for our Christmas Card.
"We would not be shooting today if it were not for momma," Steve replied. "She is the one who came up with the idea and has sketched out what each of your photos should look like. All I have to do is point and click."
"And get the lighting right...and fix the imperfections...and, most important, take a steady, in-focus shot!" "Thanks for recognizing my talent but do not be mean...or underestimate momma's contribution."
One-by-one across the cold, grey afternoon, Steve set up shots and patiently clicked away until he caught that magic moment that each pup's photo demanded. The WDA was not necessarily cooperative and at times, Steve gave one pup a break while he switched scenes to another member. But in the end, he had six photos that will become the 2013 Wishes of the Season.
Of course, WD and her siblings wanted Steve to post samples of their professional modeling but that must wait until the total effort is complete. Which is NOT going to happen any sooner even if WD comes into the office every 18 minutes and asks, "Is it done, yet?"
