White Dog and the rest of the White Dog Army really resented being quarantined on this 60 degreeF sunny, blue sky afternoon when Steve and I were headed out to the first post-holidays Paws To People meeting on the patio at a nearby coffee place. “That is so unfair.” “Just not right.” “I HATE this!” “But why? I am not even itching.” Were the growls and whines as we prepared to leave.

I did not dare to mention that there was a very good chance that we were going to meet Maizey, Gregg and Candace’s new 3lb baby girl. She comes to them as cute and cuddly as can be, but wearing the cast of a broken leg.

The meeting was informative and delightful as we sat in the fresh air, showering love on the new baby, sipping coffee and brainstorming Event ideas. Maizey nestled quietly in arms as we all got the chance for puppy cooing time.
Feeling a bit guilty, after, Steve and I headed over to the dog bakery. The least we could do to atone for the strange pup smells on our clothes was to bring home some delicious treats.
Welcome home sniffs were divided between our laps and the two bags, one containing apple oat and cheese treats and the other sweet potato bones. We were totally forgiven when the WDA discovered that they got to sample the goodies we carried AND also belatedly received their duck jerky.
Happy Sunday.
