White Dog looked at me. "Momma, I do believe you were jealous!" "No, I was not!" She stared me down. "OK just a little."

Oso was having a bad day, was pretty wobbly and easily confused. Most times he hits a day like this he becomes my velcro. All he wants is to snuggle against me and listen to my heartbeat. Not so today. It was as if he could not get comfortable in my arms. I would pick him up and he would rest for a bit then begin squirming and wiggling to get down. I would put him down and he would wobble away to stand staring into the corner.

Elena came over late this afternoon to work on some of projects we are organizing for Paws To People. She settled comfortably on the couch. Oso was in the kitchen just sort of wandering around and crashing into things (lots of noise, no harm). We talked and planned.

Oso finally came into the living room where we worked. I put my pad down to reach for him but he detoured away from me...deliberately and with full cognition...and wobbled over to Elena where he crashed at her feet.

She reached to pick him up. "He is kind of restless and will probably want you to put him down right away," I warned her. She put him on her lap. "Poor boy! Bad days are never fun."

Oso stretched himself across her lap like a cat as she stroked his furs. We continued to talk. In no time, my boy was sleeping soundly under the caress of her gentle fingers. He rested peacefully for quite a while.

"I know he gets hot to hold," I said. "Eskies are like thermal blankets. You could just put him on the blanket on the floor and he should be fine. He is sleeping deeply." Elena carefully shifted and lifted him down to the dog blanket near her feet. Oso did not awaken but adjusted himself slightly so that he was touching her foot.

OK, I confess, I for a brief moment I WAS jealous. How silly am I?

LOL! If you could hear me I'm giggling because I've had my share with the green eye when it comes to the dogs and visitors. Funny isn't it? We think we are the only ones who they know, until someone else comes in unattached and show us different. :)

Don't be. You have Taiko most of the time. I am sure he will be your blanket sometime soon too. It's really nice that Taiko is good with people. And I though Siku had the best PR.

I'm sorry Oso was having a tough day but it was very very sweet that he fell asleep on your friend's lap. I do understand that hint of jealousy, though...
