White Dog laid across the bed and barked orders. Steve and the rest of the White Dog Army were busy rearranging and setting things up. Sunday morning Steve and I would drive to the Colorado border to meet the volunteer driver, the foster mom, and Storm. Everything had to be perfect and ready for our newest recruit and White Dog had thought it all through.

"We should put a kennel close to the dog door so that she can have quick access outside," WD planned for Storm, who has stress colitis. "That is why dad should set up the kennel to have an open side, no door. Also, that way she also won't feel trapped because she gets nervous easily." The team put down layers of padding instead of a mattress for now "in case she has a few accidents as she gets adjusted," Bella explained.

We put down an extra food bowl even though at this point we are not sure where our Gentle Storm will be most comfortable dining...but we do know she does NOT like others sniffing even her empty bowl. Her foster mom says when that happens the stubborn girl pees in her empty bowl to "mark" it. "Gee, who do we know who marks?" Steve asked and all eyes turned to Sachi.

The WDA was just considering doggy blankets and spaces for napping when the call came.

It was the volunteer driver. It was already snowing heavily and predictions were that Colorado Springs and areas to the south were to get up to two feet of snow. The transport needed to be postponed.

Steve and I would not have been excited about driving the van into such conditions and totally agreed with the decision even though our new arrival would be delayed at least until next Friday. We broke the news to a disappointed White Dog Army.

"Kind of ironic, don't you think," White Dog noted, "that OUR Storm was waylaid by a storm."
Our Storm awaits us; and the WDA has already started asking the Universe
for PERFECT weather on Friday through next weekend.

Oh no but the weather predicts a postponement so it has to be. Little Storm will be there soon and will be welcomed with open arms I know.
