March 5, 2015

White Dog and I quietly began gathering together towels, the dog blanket, a few toys and things that smelled like the White Dog Army. "Don't worry too much about that, momma," she reminded. "All of Pumpkin smells like us."

Saying nothing because we superstitiously did not want to jinx a mission that had already faced three "aborts," Steve, White Dog and I prepared for the trip and spoke in code to Candace about keeping the WDA fed, safe, and comfortable while we were gone all day.

The weather promised cooperation and we had received a "go" from those in Colorado that all looked good from their end.

If you are reading this early Friday morning, our journey north has begun with auspicious promise. We should arrive around noon and return late afternoon to White Dog Ranch with the treasure we have waited seemingly ages to bring home.

More to come...

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”
