White Dog leaned against Steve on the couch. She looked over when her sister, Pearl, let out a loud belch and nodded in agreement. "I hate to admit it but I am kind of glad the holidays are winding down. It seems all we have done for the past ten days is eat fancy dinners and snack in between." Tizenegy's head swiveled toward her in shock.

"Admit it, brother," she continued, "All of the food has been very delicious and wonderful but we need to come up for air and get back to a routine that isn't five-course meals every night." Tiz tossed his head. "Are you crazy," he asked her. "WHY would we want this to end?"

"Because it would no longer be a treat and we would all gain weight and be unhealthy. Your back legs are not strong, Tiz, and added weight might make it hard for you to walk." "I am NOT going on a diet." "I am not suggesting ANY ONE needs a diet, just a return to our regular healthy meals with just a FEW snacks each day."

"I guess even our everyday dinners are pretty special," Opal chimed in. "I bet not too many pups get homecooked balanced meals with fresh vegetables and fish. Or expensive kibble. Or dad's finishing touches of fish oil and bone broth. We really have no complaints."

Steve gathered up empty bowls. "Seems like everypup left a happy bowl," he said. To Tiz, "Don't fret my boy, there are still walkie treats and nite-nite cookies."
