White Dog was slowly enjoying her last few pieces of lamb. She is like that; she savors the foods she likes.

SOME of the others, as WD politely puts it, "confuse mauling the meal with fine dining."  And when they are done, when bowls are empty, they prowl to see what can be scavenged elsewhere.

This "vulturing," as we call it, is an illegal (in this house) form of intimidation that gets a loud "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? MANNERS, PLEASE!" reprimand. The skill in master vulturing is to turn the intimidating look into one of loving concern so that the culprit can innocently glance heavenward in horror that such a pious soul would be so misunderstood.
