Last week Aspen returned Diva to us beautifully groomed but directed us to watch what looked like a bug bite on the Tiny Terror's hip. We spent the weekend washing and cleaning it but on Monday called Dr. Julia's office thinking she might want to prescribe an antibiotic. Since the clinic was booked to overflowing, Jackie suggested we email photographs and that Dr. Julia would look at them...and decide on a course of action.

At the very close of Monday, Jackie sent the vet's response. "Bring her in at 5pm on Tuesday so we can do an in person exam." Diva was not happy despite Steve's reassurance that he wold be there with her and that it important to fix the problem. "It is not even my turn to see Dr. Julia; momma said Zsofia was next."

It was a good decision. Diva is not blessed with good genetics and carries several lipoma all over her little body; we have chosen to leave them alone since removal does not guarantee that they will not return. One of those lipoma had abscessed. Steve called to fill us in and to let us know the visit would last a bit longer than usual as Dr. Julia was going to aspirate the wound and there was a hamster needing attention first. "Let's just go home," Diva complained after trying to nip our healer.

Ultimately removal of the lipoma was the course of action chosen. "It will not take long," Dr. Julia told them. "I will remove it and stitch you right up. You won't have thing more to worry about then." To Steve, Dr. Julia added, "Diva is going to need a cone to keep her from fussing at the spot. Keep your eye on her she may get herself stuck and her new look might frighten the other dogs."
Diva is home and there is much crying and snarling happening. Steve has distributed herbal calming pills to all in the hopes that the excitement level will ramp down a bit. We held her to eat and she finished her bowl; now we are hoping she will sleep.
